  • Mary provides screenings and evaluations for school aged children 5 years and older.

  • Mary offers a specialized program aimed at addressing and integrating primitive reflexes in children and adolescents. She understands that these reflexes are fundamental to various aspects of functioning, including motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive development. Through rhythmic movements, isometric exercises, bal-a-vis-x ball and bag activities, and brain gym exercises, Mary helps her students gradually integrate these reflexes to promote higher-level functioning and independence.

  • Drawing from her extensive experience in occupational therapy, Mary provides personalized sensory-motor therapy sessions for children and teens with various diagnoses and disorders, such as autism, cerebral palsy, and learning disabilities. Her treatment approach incorporates a combination of therapeutic techniques to enhance sensory processing, motor skills, gross motor and fine motor functioning, spatial awareness, and ocular motor skills. By tailoring the therapy to each individual's needs, Mary helps her patients make meaningful progress in their daily activities.

  • Mary is a certified Tier One Therapist for Size Matters Handwriting Program (SMHP). SMHP is an evidenced-based handwriting curriculum with easy, fun, proven materials to acquire functional legible printing. Mary is also trained in Learning Without Tears handwriting program, which is a multi-sensory approach to teaching printing. These programs equip Mary with the expertise to address handwriting challenges in students. She offers a specialized handwriting improvement program that focuses on enhancing handwriting skills through targeted exercises and activities. By identifying and addressing underlying issues that may impact handwriting, Mary helps her students develop legible and efficient writing skills, which can positively influence academic performance and overall confidence.

  • Mary assists children with developing various grasping patterns, cutting, activities of daily living such as dressing (zippers, buttons, snaps, shoe tying) and utensil use and play activities. Mary addresses underlying skill development with bilateral coordination, visual perception, motor planning, sensory integration, strength and endurance that may impact fine motor skill development.

  • With her experience in school-based pediatrics and consulting with educators, Mary offers consultation services to schools, teachers, and other related service providers. She collaborates with educational teams to develop effective strategies and accommodations for students with diverse needs, including those with attention deficit disorder, anxiety, and developmental coordination disorder. Mary's guidance and expertise in incorporating principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) can further support the overall development and success of students in special classes.
